I would like to nominate Angel to be a recipient of the DAISY award. I was a patient from March 4 for just over two weeks due to some setbacks from an ilieostomy. Angel was my primary nurse during my stay and because of her; I was able to endure it with some laughter and confidence.

Angel was always the one that didn't nod her head and say it will be fine, when I had a question about my ostomy site. She cared about what I said and really listened. I was getting shots of a blood thinner so that I didn't clot and while the two days prior to me meeting Angel, every other nurse had just punched, pushed and was done. The first time Angel gave me the shot, I questioned the fact that I was bruised from all the other shots and why she was taking so long, she said that is how it is supposed to be and that she was going to put this in the newsletter that she put out for the other nurses on the ward. This shows that she cares how others treat patients and how things should be done the correct way. Angel always has a smile on her face for the patients as well as her co-workers and that goes a long way to make everyone around her feel like they are part of a family. She never failed to explain why she was giving me the drugs she was and as a stroke survivor never had a problem with me asking more than once what a drug was for. I wish you had more nurses like her!!

Thank you for the opportunity to give a shout out to a fabulous nurse.
