She truly feels for her patients; you can’t learn that from school. It’s in her heart and soul.
My wife was admitted to the hospital on Friday evening from the ER. She is a cancer patient receiving chemo and was stuck in the ER for 12 hours, which is way too long, especially for a cancer patient. I can give you specifics, but I will stop here. She finally got a room at 10 pm on the 4th floor of Tower B. The two nurses that were attending tried their best. I went home that night and stayed worrying the entire evening. I came back to the hospital on Saturday morning and a nurse was working with my wife to establish and come up with a plan to fight the infection that she had. She explained to us which doctors would be participating in her care (Infectious Disease, Oncology, Gastro, etc). Eva was very good at explaining the results and what to expect next. Information is important, especially when so many things are going on. My wife had a port on her chest for chemo and blood and it always had problems from the start. Getting blood was always a problem. She looked at the port and told us that she was going to try fixing it with a solution that could make it work. No one asked her to do this but she did it on her own because it was the right thing to do while Irene was here. A few hours later, the port was working properly. This is just one example of why Eva is a fantastic healthcare employee. She truly feels for her patients; you can’t learn that from school. It’s in her heart and soul. My wife’s care has improved so much because of Eva, and we cannot thank her enough for all she has done for her. Eva is a credit to the nursing profession.
