My chronic illness means that I am admitted to UI Hospitals & Clinics multiple times a year. My diagnoses are rare, and I have unusual medication protocols that are often difficult to get in place at the start of every admission.
Kayley has been my nurse during these issues and has witnessed the effects of what happens when my protocols are not followed. This admission Kayley worked extremely hard to ensure my protocols were followed and made sure I was mentally handling the admission as well as possible even though she had multiple patients at this time.
When I was moved to 6 RC, she spent extra time calling all members of my team and nursing staff to ensure the med protocols that keep me safe were in place. She even stayed late past her shift to do this and to ensure my meds that were scheduled at shift change were on time. She always goes above and beyond what is required and genuinely cares about me and my life.
For instance, this admission Kayley immediately asked about my pending graduation from college that she remembered from a previous admission.
