She has shown so much empathy and kept in touch when she didn’t have to. I honestly can’t ever thank her enough or tell her just how much of a difference she has made during what was a really frightening time.
Five days after embryo transfer I became really unwell and was eventually admitted to hospital with OHSS. Keelie kept in touch during this time with support and reassurance. I was admitted to hospital a second time and my symptoms lasted months, which led to me taking blood thinning injections and wearing compression stockings for the first 15 weeks of pregnancy. This was my first round of IVF as a single person and I was absolutely terrified about what was happening to my body and if I would ever get better. Keelie went above and beyond during this time and stayed in touch via email.
I was discharged from the clinic at eight weeks, but two weeks later, I had a setback at the hospital where my ovaries had begun to increase in size again. The hospital seemed concerned but unable to find a reason why this was happening. I got in touch with Keelie to ask if she might know, but at the same time thinking, because I had been discharged, she might not reply. Keelie did reply, and was absolutely amazing. I was feeling very vulnerable and low by this time as I had been poorly for weeks, not knowing when or if it was going to get better and constantly worrying that the baby would be affected.
OHSS was honestly one of the scariest experiences I have ever been through, and without Keelie, I don’t know where I'd be. She was the only constant person throughout all those weeks as in hospital, I just saw whoever was available and then never saw the same person again. Keelie has been so kind, caring, helpful, reassuring, and supportive throughout my pregnancy. She has shown so much empathy and kept in touch when she didn’t have to. I honestly can’t ever thank her enough or tell her just how much of a difference she has made during what was a really frightening time. I pray she gets some recognition because she truly deserves it.
