From a patient’s family member: We arrived at the hospital at 10am ready to admit my dad for colon cancer surgery scheduled for 1pm. When we arrived in the Pre-op holding area, Larissa was welcoming and helpful. She was very patient and respectful towards my 90 year old father. She kept a smile as she scurried about the room (yes, scurried!). Patients came and went, each well treated with respect and a smile. She was also pleasant and appreciative toward her colleagues, and she seemed to anticipate the needs of the doctors who passed through. With delays in our surgeon’s schedule and an unexpected emergency, we waited and observed in this “holding pattern” until 7pm. She remained faithful to her task and we had a good first impression of the hospital allowing us to wait with less anxiety during the surgery.
