Linda has been a nurse for 45 years, 35 of which have been in the GI lab starting at the Creighton Campus. To be able to work with Linda is a pure delight. She is kind to everyone she encounters. Linda is always even-keeled, even in crisis situations. She is a huge resource when trying to problem solve scopes or other GI equipment. Not only do her peers love her, but physicians and patients do as well! Doctors comment at how nice she is.
Linda has a habit. For the last 10 years that I have known her, she hums subconsciously. I cannot tell you how many patients take note of her happy kind heart. On return visits, patients ask about the humming nurse. They say, "She is so kind and makes me feel so much at ease." This is important for so many of our patients who are here for the first time or for a follow-up visit.
Lastly, grass does not grow under Linda's feet. She is always busy keeping things tidy and restocked. You don't have to ask her to work. She's just that kind of person. Whenever I see Linda, I know I am going to have a good day right along with her patients!
