In a time when we are so deeply devastated, she has brought much comfort to us. Knowing that our sweet Mama is being compassionately cared for is invaluable to us.
My mom was diagnosed with brain cancer 4 weeks ago. It is stage 4, metastatic from a very aggressive form of Renal Cell Carcinoma. As if that isn’t enough pain to deal with, she was admitted to the hospital with a perforated bowel. To say that my family is rocked to our core is an understatement. My mother is the pillar of this family. She is young. We do not know how to survive without her. We know she is terminal and we are struggling to come to terms with the fact that we are going to lose her. But there is nothing worse than watching someone you love suffer with pain.
Megan has been an absolute ray of sunshine in my mom's care. She is gentle and genuine. She has made sure to address my mom's pain and anxiety in a timely manner. She takes her time with every interaction providing thorough education and companionship. Megan encompasses everything one would anticipate a nurse to be. She has been an advocate and a compassionate friend. In a time when we are so deeply devastated, she has brought much comfort to us. Knowing that our sweet Mama is being compassionately cared for is invaluable to us. Thank you Megan. You are not unnoticed. We believe you have found your true calling in this profession and we hope you find time to care for yourself as well as you care for others.
