Olivia was assigned a patient who was being rapidly transfused blood products and was very unstable at the time.  After testing it was known that the patient needed an emergent embolization.  The House Sup was notified that the IR team would need to be called in.  The house sup was unable to get a hold of the IR nurse so it was discussed with the charge nurse and Olivia if she could step in and assist, Olivia agreed to assist because it was the right thing to do for the patient.  Olivia is always willing to help wherever needed not just in the ICU or IR but in the ED as well.  Olivia is a highly compassionate nurse who truly shined on this occasion.  For that, we need to nominate her as she went above and beyond her assigned duties.
