In the PICU, we have so many outstanding nurses. In a group that exudes excellence and compassion, it's really impressive that one nurse can stand out among this team of stars and Patricia Waller seems to do just that. She brings light into every room she enters. She goes beyond the "extra mile" for her patients.

Tonight she washed her patient's hair, and then gently combed and styled it into a cute little mohawk, talking to the child and reminding him that he is handsome and special. For the past few nights she's had the same kids and I've just enjoyed watching her minister to them, being hyper vigilant of even the smallest detail. I'm impressed beyond belief. I'm just a paramedic, but I'm currently working my way through nursing school and I hope to be the same kind of nurse as Tricia - dedicated, compassionate, warm, thorough, meticulous, professional, and really fun to be around. She's all business and is totally focused on her patients, yet she is always smiling and lifting to anyone around her. I could go on and on about this great nurse. ACH is lucky to have her. The PICU is fortunate she is on the team. Her patients are definitely blessed to be in her care.
