It could not be clearer to me that Shyann cares about her job, her patients, and the nursing profession as a whole.
This was my first time undergoing any type of Anesthesia, and when I woke up in recovery I was really disoriented and scared. I was in so much pain and was hyperventilating, and Shyann was so supportive throughout the entire experience.

She went out of her way to find the doctor and explain to him what was going on and got the okay to give me Xanax and Oxy to help me calm down, and it was exactly what I needed. She knew from my chart that I struggled with anxiety and went above and beyond to make sure I felt all right and safe. At one point after the meds were given my O2 sat's dropped from 99 to 90, and I think I may have lost consciousness, but she was right there with me the whole time helping me breathe and assuring me I was going to be ok.

After going into the whole surgery so scared, I could not have asked for a better nurse to help me through recovery. She answered any questions I had thoroughly, and even when I couldn’t stop hyperventilating and apologizing, she was so kind and patient with me. When she brought my mom in, she gave me cookies and graham crackers and was so nice to not only me but my mom as well. I could not have asked for a better experience, even with all the complications I endured. She truly went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, and I think she deserves to be recognized for her kindness.

Shyann had great distracting tactics to help me not think about the pain to calm down, asked me about my job, and what I go to school for, complimented my tattoos, was constantly asking if I was okay or if I needed anything, and was just truly so compassionate and obviously cared about her job. I cannot say enough good things about her. `The nursing profession is already such a hard and grueling job, and to come into work every day with a smile on your face must be hard in and of itself- but it could not be clearer to me that Shyann cares about her job, her patients, and the nursing profession as a whole. She is what every nurse should aspire to be. She was truly so delightful, and I cannot express how much her care and attitude affected my recovery. Truly, truly an amazing nurse and person. I am very thankful that I had her to depend on throughout the whole recovery experience, and she made an unpleasant situation so, so, so pleasant.
