P has been a patient at The Jewish Hospital for over 160 days. We have experienced the care of many nurses on the BCC unit and most of them should be nominated to receive the DAISY Award. However, one nurse stands above the others! Tracy goes above and beyond the care of her patient’s physical and mental health. She is kind, caring, and compassionate. She puts herself in their place and thinks about their needs and what they might want. Being in the hospital for so many days, P would sometimes be depressed. Tracy always entered his very animatedly, sometimes dancing and she would always put a smile on his face and change his mood. One time, when P had hospital delirium and was confused, he didn’t know who I was, but he called Tracy by name when she entered his room!

I was an inpatient for 9 days and Tracy was my nurse for multiple days. She went above and beyond to make me comfortable and my wife at ease. Even on days, she was not my nurse, she checked in with my wife, she was amazing!
