Abby exhibited care and compassion every time she interacted with my mom.
My 93-year-old mom came to Lutheran Hospital after a terribly frightening medical emergency at home. I don’t remember the exact dates when Abby took care of mom, but she was mom’s Nurse for several days. Abby exhibited care and compassion every time she interacted with my mom. I was beyond touched to watch her patiently answer mom’s and my questions, and to ensure mom was as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately mom returned to Lutheran for unrelated issues in January, then again in February. I didn’t reach out to Abby in January, but I let her know when mom was on the unit again. Imagine mom’s delight when her beloved Abby came to see her! It brightened my mom’s world. Abby epitomizes the best there is in nursing care. She doesn’t just deserve a DAISY – she deserves a whole bouquet! Abby sent a card with me when mom was discharged with instructions for mom to open it when we got home. Such a thoughtful and kind gesture, and mom has something from Abby that she will always treasure.
