Aileen always shows compassion for her patients and builds a therapeutic relationship with them which enables her to provide excellent care for our patients.

It was not so much my care as it was in her other patients. She is often the only nurse on the unit, but will stop her charting to answer a patients question or give them water. Aileen has a disposition of humor with all of her patients. She makes them laugh while still being professional. I see it all the time which, to me, is what a true nurse should be: respectful, compassionate, and human.

I must say that all of the staff of EPPC are amazing. A nurse who has been a constant pillar of wisdom for all of my students at NMSU is Aileen Olivares, RN. Aileen was the first to welcome my students with open arms. The first day I came here as a professor with my NMSU students, she advised me how/which students could benefit from this rotation. Her guidance provided a well rounded clinical experience. On a personal note, Aileen found out it was my birthday and had staff and my students celebrate with cake and ice cream. Thank you Aileen!
