Aimee was asked to be the case manager for a woman with pancreatic cancer who was receiving TPN, draining large amounts of peritoneal fluid, and unrealistic about her prognosis. Aimee visited daily and after hours to teach the patient and her family how to administer TPN. She was very kind, compassionate, and went the extra mile to assure that the patient's family was competent. The patient was challenging in that, she was very unrealistic about her physical state and that death was imminent. Aimee was able to evaluate her pain level and collaborate with the physician in assuring that her patient's pain would be treated appropriately. The patient was shortly referred to hospice and died within a few weeks. The family was so appreciative of the care and support that Aimee delivered during this time of need.
