Amanda goes above and beyond. She is a reliable, constant, accommodating, considerate, skilled, and truly amazing person.
Amanda is a kind, compassionate, and hard-working Nurse. Amanda is thorough in her assessment and education to patients and their families; she follows up with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to report all changes and request needed interventions to allow for the best outcomes. Amanda has also recently started in a preceptor position and has begun sharing her knowledge and excellent case-management skills with our new staff. Our orientee has responded extremely well to Amanda and reports how happy she was to work with her.
Amanda also just recently received a wonderful letter from a former patient:
“Good Morning, I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to take a moment and let you know what an incredible asset Amanda is to the community and how truly lucky I feel to have found her through the VNA. I first met Amanda after I had a bilateral mastectomy and did not have much support. This was not an easy surgery, and I had some complications along the way. She was easy to contact, always reliable, and on time. She made sure I had the supplies I needed and always assured me of how the healing was going in the correct direction or when to contact the surgeon.
I had a hiccup and was not sure if I should reach out to the surgeon, and it was a weekend evening; she assured me I should contact them and what to explain to them. She is very calming and understanding. I also have three dogs, and she was able to navigate around them without an issue. She is an incredible nurse and a very compassionate person. She was able to answer any and all questions and was always making sure I did not need anything more. This was not what I had expected from a previous interaction with the VNA.
Fast forward to later, my father, whom I take care of, was diagnosed with late-stage esophageal cancer and had a PEG tube placed. I was not sure how to get in contact or get the VNA set up because no one at the hospital could give me an answer one way or another. Amanda was able to take the lead for me during a very stressful time, and she was also the visiting nurse for him, and that also made him more at ease. She has given me other recommendations and helpful information in reference to his diagnosis and resources that could be helpful to me. I was not able to have the reconstructive surgery immediately due to treatment possibilities, and the reconstructive surgery kept being postponed, but it has now been set. I contacted her, and she was able to tell me once again how to get the ball rolling. I can not express how grateful I am for her and how she is a reliable source who has alleviated stress in very high-stress situations. There are many people in this area/field who "just do their job" or do the bare minimum; Amanda goes above and beyond. She is a reliable, constant, accommodating, considerate, skilled, and truly amazing person. As a small business owner, like other people in business, most people are always eager to say bad things or complain and forget to express their gratitude to those who meet and exceed expectations. Thank you for your time."
