Upon admission, Nurse Amy Sullins was the primary nurse for my dear friend in the last week of her life. Nurse Sullins remembered my friend—along with details of conversations from an earlier hospital stay.
Amy was compassionate, attentive and invested in the comfort and care of my friend. When it became apparent that we were in the last hours of my friend's life—and as difficult decisions were being made—Amy went above and beyond the call of duty as she stood with us in that room, and with tears in her eyes, offered a powerful ministry of presence and care. More than medicine, Amy offered her heart. No doubt about it, we experienced the presence of Christ repeatedly personified in our nurse.
Amy Sullins is an exceptional nurse. More than a job though, it is her ministry. She represents the mission of NEA Baptist very well. I was so grateful for her presence, her compassion, and her skill.
