Nurse Andi prayed for my mom in the ER. She got my mom to a point of stability, and when my mom asked her to pray for her, she did-without reservation, without hesitation. I met Nurse Andi when my mom was rushed from the Austin Cancer Center to the ER, both located at Seton Northwest. Mom had become unresponsive at the cancer center with severely low blood pressure. Nurse Andi was thorough in her care, even taking the time to explain to me the medical protocol for a process to reverse the severely high potassium levels in my mom. She also orchestrated the quick transport of my mom to Dell Seton and Mom's oncology and neurology teams. All of these demonstrate Nurse Andi is good at what she does, but it was stopping to pray and holding our hands that showed me it is not just about stabilizing the patient, for Nurse Andi it is caring for the whole person, and that is priceless and precious and indescribably beautiful.
