Angela had written a note on the whiteboard that was on the wall saying "You got this girl!" and "Thank you for letting me take care of you."
I was admitted to the Austin Hospital for a kidney infection and fluid in my lungs. I was horribly sick for the first couple of days after being admitted. Once I started having trouble breathing I was transferred up to the ICU for further care. Angela was my first nurse when I got up there. I was scared and worried and didn't know what was going to happen and Angela stayed by my side the entire time, calming me down and telling me that everything was going to be ok. And that she was going to take good care of me. I was so in and out of sleep that I don't remember her leaving once her shift was done, But when I did wake up Angela had written a note on the whiteboard that was on the wall saying "You got this girl!" and "Thank you for letting me take care of you." I kept that message up on that whiteboard for my entire week's stay in the ICU. After a day or so I got to see her again when she worked and came to check on me. She is a fabulous nurse and so caring. I felt like no matter what happened she would be right by my side good or bad. She took time out of her day to come in and make sure I was ok and if I needed anything when she was working. Don't get me wrong during my week stay at the hospital I had so many nurses and aides that were fantastic. Everyone that came into my room was awesome. But Angela I feel went above and beyond what she needed to do for me and my mom (who was with me). She made me feel like I was family and she would be there no matter what. Angela is an awesome nurse and went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of even if I wasn't her patient when she returned to work. I hope that I don't need any further hospital stays but if I do I know that I will be well taken care of at the Austin Hospital.
