While working as charge nurse, Anne came to my rescue and went above and beyond. I'm a colorectal cancer patient from another state admitted for multiple complications due to chemo. I had been transferred to UMC by ambulance from another ER. Because of that, I did not have my colostomy supplies with me. One of the complications was bleeding into my ostomy bag. Anne found me supplies on the unit and also ordered me extra since there were not my usual set-up and I was having difficulty getting my ostomy changed. She then went above and beyond that to help clean me up, she got me a new gown and supplies and proceeded to clean up the residual mess that I had made. Anne did not have to do any of this; she could have passed me off to a float nurse or even a nurses' aide, but she didn't.
