From the moment Ariel walked in, smiled and said, "I will be your nurse taking care of you", it was smooth sailing after that. This paper does not have enough lines to tell you all the positive qualities Ariel has that should be recognized. She is the only person who asked my mom about her family and in the note section wrote: "she cares about her six grandchildren". My mom didn't have to constantly ask for the water, ice and soda (she drank a lot), because every single time Ariel came in and checked to make sure she was stocked.
I used the call light almost never that night. My text to my sister that morning was "wonderful nurse Ariel… I hope we have her tomorrow! Smooth night. Mama loved her. It takes a certain person who loves her job and truly cares about making the patient feel at home taken care of to get these results."
My mom told Ariel constantly she was good at her job and thanking her for her help! Every time I walked down the hallway, Ariel would smile and say "Hi" in passing.
Every single time she left the room she asked if we (her family) needed anything, every single time. We were standing at the door fixing to go for a walk and Ariel was not assigned to my mom that night. She went out of her way, smiled and came up to my mom to talk to her and asked her how she was doing. I was in the hallway frustrated dealing with Mom refusing to take her IV meds and she saw I was frustrated and upset, she came over and asked if I was ok. She was the only person to walk over to me and my mom, NOT even assigned to us that day to ask if we were ok, and she did it with a smile and a caring heart. This young lady deserves to be honored for going above and beyond! We love her!
