From the moment we arrived Ashleigh was communicative and understanding. She knew a hospital birth wasn't our original plan and she was sensitive to this. She let us know what to expect from the beginning and partnered seamlessly with my midwife. She was quick to gather recent history and test results to avoid duplication. She checked with me frequently to see how I was feeling and proactively let me know how the baby was doing. She asked me how I wanted to sleep so blood pressure monitoring could be arranged as comfortably as possible. Most notable, Ashleigh understands the humanism and empathy you need in a medical environment. When preparing to get my epidural I had to urinate. Having any medication was a big enough stressor when natural birth was the plan, without threat of wetting myself. Where the anesthesiologist and other nurses seemed irritated. Ashleigh brought me and helped me with a bed pan. She was understanding communicative, empathetic, compassionate, proactive, collaborative and very nice. She followed up prior to her shift the next day. Thank you Ashleigh!
