Ashley has gone above and beyond in caring for our daughter W. During our two-week stay, Ashley not only cared for W as her own, she took the time to make sure I was taking care of myself, having the breaks and items I needed. She made sure we were taking the time to color, bathe, brush hair, and give regular care with extra love. Ashley helped me learn new cares and never mademe feel rushed or silly for asking again for help. She helped W learn the cares of her new magic buttons on her lamb doll and acted like that lambie was real and just as special as she was. When it came time to leave, Ashley made sure W knew how amazing she was with her new magic buttons and how special she was to her.
When we had to come back several months later, W couldn't wait to get on to the 6th floor to see "her" Nurse Ashley. The reuniting of these two was wonderful with tears and hugs and lots of laughs. It was like they were never apart. Ashley, even though she wasn't our nurse the second time, made sure W was getting good care and that she was okay. We have met several of the nurses through our journey starting in the NICU, and Ashley shines. All the staff is wonderful but Ashley just holds such a special place in my daughter's heart. Anyone who meets W has to hear about "her" Nurse Ashley and how she made the hospital such a fun place.
