We came here thinking my daughter, who was 38 weeks pregnant, was just getting a check-up. We discovered she was in labor! Ultimately she had a cesarean where she had to be put under general anesthesia. That was scary for a first-time mother and a first-time grandmother. Ashley took care of us after we discovered some issues with the baby's breathing and heart and when my daughter's temperature kept spiking to a fever. I think Ashley's experience has given her such excellent qualities in taking care of a patient's needs. But, she went above and beyond her job duties. Ashley was predictive about our needs. Not only did she provide things that we desired and needed, but she would provide things, ideas and help that we had not yet considered. We often discussed those types of qualities she exhibited. She made us feel welcomed, taken care of and always explained things and answered any questions we had with such competence and professionalism. In addition, I'd say her most admirable quality was her ability to make me and especially my daughter feel safe, taken care of and that everything was going to be okay. That is so important in situations this serious as well as most any other hospital situation. She was a source of strength, compassion, and wisdom. She made our scary situation so much better than it could have been. I will take with me the gift of Ashley's kindness, compassion, wisdom and hard work.
