As a nurse at Eastside, I've had the opportunity to work shifts in every department in this hospital. I have taken care of a vast array of patients and worked with an even wider array of nurses.

Two weeks ago I had my gallbladder removed and was on the surgical floor pre and post op. I want to make it known that Bella was a godsend.

As a nurse, I can recognize when someone is trying and when someone just "has it.' Bella has it all and then some. She took care of me physically, emotionally, psychologically and friendly. I know what it takes to do what she did for me and such care only comes from a compassionate heart.

Not only did she not make me want for anything, she did the same for my wife. As well, she took my son (4 years old) to the nourishment room for goodies. Not everyone makes time for that!

She made my first surgical experience one that is memorable in a fond way - not a scary way.

Bella deserves this award as her actions embody what the DAISY award is all about.
