Beverly Gamboa volunteered to take the lead role in preparing all the documents necessary for us to apply for Comprehensive Care Center accreditation for our Pulmonary Hypertension program. Accreditation in many ways improves the lives of the patients we treat now and well into the future. This involved multiple meetings with the department director, managers, doctors, and staff. She came in early one morning to complete the on-line application and has communicated with the staff the progress of the acceptance of our application and the upcoming site visit.

Beverly shows a high level of compassion for her patients. Often she will call and check on patients who she has not heard from in a while. Beverly contacts the patients loved ones to offer her condolences during the time of loss. Beverly works very fast and efficiently to deliver safe patient care.

Beverly has a great sense of accountability. If she says she is going to do something, we can all count on it getting done. The Pulmonary Hypertension testing is always done in a timely manner and she diligently informs her patients of all results or changes to their plan of care.

She is a Super User for our electronic medical record and serves as a resource to our staff. Beverly is always willing to help her coworkers. She is a member of our department's RESPECT team and co-chairs the MAGNET Committee. She recently joined the Transplant Program Unit Based Council as is interested in moving our unit forward to national certification and MAGNET status recognition.
