Bobbi was caring for a patient that had a huge responsibility due to the complex diagnosis and comorbidities the patient had during end of life. Bobbi was the only home health nurse the patient trusted. She exemplified the value of a caring spirit through the compassionate and understanding care she gave to this patient and the patient's caregiver. Bobbi was invaluable to the health care providers as well. Due to her exceptional communication between the patient, caregiver, and health care team, Bobbi was able to create collaboration with all members involved and the patient received the best care possible which corresponded with the patient's wishes. All other assistance including hospice and palliative care was declined by the patient and caregiver, placing Bobbi with a heavy workload. Our patient was able to die at home with symptoms managed, in accordance with respecting patient wishes (without hospice care). This was only made possible through Bobbi's involvement.
