Excellence -I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Bonnie was an amazing and compassionate advocate throughout the process. Every visit she made me feel at ease and was always on top of whatever care was needed. Much of my care was done in the community and Bonnie was an excellent bridge between the two health systems.
Respect - Bonnie always treated me with respect and made me feel comfortable, regardless of the issue I was having.
Advocacy - Whenever there was an insurance issue (it can be complicated navigating both VA and Tricare systems) Bonnie was always thrilled to mediate for me and solve the problems. When I had scans/procedures in the community, Bonnie made sure all the parties were aware of what had to happen. She made sure I never fell through the cracks and I don't know if I can ever thank her enough for it.
Commitment - Whenever Bonnie says that she will take care of something, it is best to just consider it done. When I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, I was terrified (I was only 35 at the time). Bonnie always made me feel better when I saw her and always had the attitude that I would be fine and practically oozed a "you got this" type of mentality. Whenever I had an insurance issue or a problem/misunderstanding with another provider, she would always figure it out for or with me. I cannot express how much I appreciate her and exactly how exceptional of a nurse I believe her to be. Thank you, Bonnie, for everything!
