Breanna was working until 2 PM and I would ask her if she had eaten lunch and she hadn't. Yet she kept going. I watched her in awe.
There were so many good nurses. He had a few favorites but the one he felt saved his life and stood out the most was Breanna. She went above and beyond. She would add little pads and extra bandages to make him more comfortable and avoid pressure sores. She would change his gown and shave his face. She was worried about him long-term even though he couldn't feel anything.
One time he was on 100% oxygen and he wasn't looking good with saturations in the 70s. She did some procedures to make sure he was doing better. She adjusted his body, bed, head, and the wedges. She was attempting to find even the tiniest spot in his lungs that would get more oxygen. She was there awhile working tirelessly to help him improve. She was working until 2 PM and I would ask her if she had eaten lunch and she hadn't. Yet she kept going. I watched her in awe.
Then all of a sudden, his saturations started creeping up. We both stared at the screen and his O2 improved tremendously. Just to see all that she did was so inspiring. I would talk about him endlessly. She was very sweet, accommodating, and very mindful. She kept her sense of humor; and for someone working in ICU that spoke volumes. She is a leader for sure. Super knowledgeable.
