She has compassion and tenderness and understands the difficult part of working in the ICU and the uncertainty patients work through.
Briana went out of her way to care for me for four days while I was in ICU for a brain bleed. She would tend to my needs to make sure I was bathed, and even one day, when I didn’t feel like I wanted to be bathed, she came in with her towels and encouraged me to clean up. She helped me wash my hair but then braided it for me. It did make me feel so much better as I still was faced with some uncertainty about the direction of my treatment and care. She even shared her pistachio nuts when I needed something to eat after I came back from my angiogram and was recovering from the angiogram. She has compassion and tenderness and understands the difficult part of working in the ICU and the uncertainty patients work through. As I waited for treatment and or test results or doctors to come and have conversations with my husband and myself, she kept encouraging me. She checked on me frequently, and even though she was just in the next room, she made sure that my room was tidy and courteous and respectful when I was doing the sponge bath. Her kindness and compassion were impeccable, and she deserves to be recognized for what she did to help me work through the difficult challenges I was facing. I’ve never had a nurse so caring and concerned about my well-being. She treated the whole person.
