We could always count on Brittani for her advocacy, care, and compassion throughout C's six-year struggle and she has continued to graciously support me during this very agonizing year since losing her.
My goddaughter was a Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer patient at CTCA. Sadly, last year, sweet C died at the young age of 40. We are extremely grateful to all the great CTCA staff who supported C and me as her caregiver through this most difficult journey. On behalf of C, and with my heartfelt gratitude and praise, we would like to nominate Brittani McCafferty RN for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional professional nursing expertise and her steadfast commitment to the highest quality patient care.
We could always count on Brittani for her advocacy, care, and compassion throughout C's six-year struggle and she has continued to graciously support me during this very agonizing year since losing her. Brittani exemplifies the very spirit of what the DAISY Award represents. During C's last three months, as I served as her sole caregiver throughout her time in home hospice, Brittani helped me to obtain an order for medication that was not available from the hospice company and then helped me to find a coupon that brought the $1,000 cost of this medication down by several hundred dollars.
During this excruciating time of watching C's decline, I needed to get two more refills of that medication. Again, Brittani came to the rescue. She helped me two more times to get this medication that C needed while also saving me hundreds of dollars with the coupons. Brittani can best be described by saying she "always goes above and beyond" for her patients and their caregivers and families. C was known for many things, and one was her beautiful smile. I have no doubt that C would surely be radiantly smiling down from heaven if she saw Brittani recognized with the DAISY Award. C and I both believe that Brittani is most deserving of the award given to those who represent the epitome of professional nursing.
