Bringing a new life into the world can be exciting and scary all at the same time. But Brittany Cavanaugh did not waste any time in rescuing a sick newborn, while simultaneously reassuring the family. Ms. Cavanaugh's critical thinking skills, compassion, and exceptional are what make her a trusted resource and nurse.
Ms. Cavanaugh was nominated by a couple who illustrated the joy and excitement in meeting their son, only to have him rushed to the NICU with respiratory distress. Devastated and overcome with emotions, Ms. Cavanaugh was there to answer all of their questions and reassure them.
Once in the NICU, Ms. Cavanaugh became their trusted source for information and an advocate for their baby: "She was just what we needed at that time and we cannot be any more thankful to have met her. We watched with gratitude as she took exceptional care of our son in the state that he was in, delivering skillful and compassionate care."
