Carlota took the time not only to be an excellent nurse but also had the capacity to understand what anxiety is. She saw that when dealing with me (diagnosed with severe anxiety) being in excruciating pain made it worse. She knew how to talk to me and knew that I am uncomfortable not knowing what is going on with my care. She informed me of my lab information and made recommendations to doctors about the possibility of Infectious Disease getting involved. She also took the time to listen to how much pain not only the infection but the physical injury was causing and spoke with me offering me help with what I feel is above and beyond what I have experienced here at Henry Ford.
She was genuine about her care. Carlota came to inform me of a med change she sat quietly and gracefully to let me know medical information. She respected me. She even stopped by three times when she was not my assigned nurse to check up on me; trying to uplift me and give me hope. This is not only an extraordinary nurse but an extraordinary individual who stands out. She is an asset not only to the hospital but to all patients here.
Carlota has made such a huge difference in my care. This DAISY Award honors her for the immaculate job she has done on all levels, most of all representing Henry Ford Health System in a positive light. What a precious asset! Thank you!
