Our baby was rushed to the NICU shortly after birth. It was a hectic 8 days that he stayed there. I experienced over 9 nurses during this time frame. Carmen stood out for her compassion, clinical knowledge, and encouragement. She explained everything she was doing, what we should be doing and what to watch for. She cared for my son like her own. On her second shift, she left a note from my son and wrote "O's First Bathtub" on the side of his pink container. My wife smiled and cried tears of joy for the first time all week. I truly believe she embodies all the values you look for in a nurse and can't thank her enough for everything she did over the 3 days she was assigned to us.
