My best friend came in while fighting cancer. Carrie was there every step of the way keeping friends and family informed at every turn and explaining everything in terms we all could understand. Every time she checked on the patient, she checked on us too. She talked to her patient like an old friend, comforting, encouraging and coaching her as much as she needed. I've been around several nurses, but Carrie exceeds them all. When the fight was over, she hugged and cried with us, too. I know my friend had the best nurse possible, and that will give us all some peace in this extremely painful time. Should I ever need to be in the hospital, I pray to God I have a nurse like her.
