Cassandra Robinson works as an RN on our unit. I have seen her provide great care to our patients time and time again. She has a compassionate, empathetic heart and it is evident in the way she serves every day she comes to work. She has been a nurse for a while and is always open to educate and help other nurses.
We recently had a patient that was on our unit for quite some time waiting for placement. The patient didn't have any visitors during his whole stay, and he didn't have any belongings. The patient only had the clothes he came in. Knowing the patient would discharge soon; Cassandra went to the store and bought him all the supplies he would need at discharge, such as a shirt, socks, pants, and underwear. She came back to the unit after her shift was over to hand-deliver the supplies and to spend time with the patient. This is just one of the many acts of kindness that I have witnessed her provide to our patients on the unit.
On this same day, Cassandra was seen crying with another patient in their room. That's why we do what we do here, it's all about the patients and she puts the patients before herself. She won't even take her lunch break until she knows that her patients won't need anything while she is gone. She is a wonderful patient advocate, and I strongly believe that she deserves recognition for the excellent care she provides.
