Her compassion for the non-pregnant patient is exceptional. She is committed to promoting disease prevention and practicing evidence-based care.
One faculty noted that Cassidy is deserving of The DAISY Award because of her compassion and commitment to women in every phase of their lives. She guides patients through their pregnancies in a holistic, caring manner and educates them on how best to care for themselves and their babies. She is dedicated to helping her patients breastfeed successfully and supporting them in their journey through the postpartum period. Her compassion for the non-pregnant patient is exceptional. She is committed to promoting disease prevention and practicing evidence-based care. As a DNP nursing student, she has volunteered to represent her classmates by serving as a representative on multiple committees, such as Graduate Studies Faculty Committee and Nurse-Midwife Faculty Committee. She created a social media communication page for all of the nurse-midwife DNP students in order to gather information to present to the faculty and allow students to have a voice in making decisions that affect their courses and curriculum. She is always fair and when bringing concerns to the faculty, she has a recommended solution in mind. Her professionalism and communication are exceptional. She is an incredible leader, and I foresee her being a force of change in the nursing profession. I am overjoyed to nominate this outstanding student for your prestigious award.
Another peer student noted that Cassidy is a one-of-a-kind woman. From the start, Cassidy has facilitated a community amongst the Midwifery-DNP students after our first immersion. Not only did she create a community that was essential to keeping up with due dates, expectations, etc., she also served as a therapist, a friend, and a champion for the specialty. Cassidy embodies everything that a nurse, midwife, and friend should. She is genuine, professional, empathetic, and absolutely brilliant. Cassidy also personally helped me through the program in a way not expected of her. Despite having only met in person 3 times, she has been a confidant and cheerleader for me. When life got tough and I felt like I could possibly not finish on time or at all, Cassidy made sure to lift me up and encourage me to keep moving forward. I truly believe that if she was not in my cohort, and we did not happen to launch a long-distance friendship, that I would not be at graduation this Spring. I will be forever grateful to her and would be so lucky to maintain this friendship and professional relationship. Cassidy, I adore you and can only imagine how impactful to the practice you will be. Any woman you come across is inspired and supported by you. I love you so much.
Cassidy exemplifies the kind of student colleagues, faculty, staff, and administrators recognize as an exemplary DNP student and an outstanding role model. LHSON recognizes her for the above-and-beyond care and compassion she shows patients and their families.
