Cathy has a wonderful rapport with physicians, staff, and peers of all disciplines. She is knowledgeable, well respected, and a team player. Cathy is also loving and devoted to her patients. She gives exceptional care to them and offers support to their families. She serves as a mentor and is a fantastic preceptor. She genuinely cares about our patients, staff, families, and coworkers.
Not so long ago there was a younger patient in their 30's. This patient was homeless. After work, Cathy went home and told her children they needed some clothing, shoes, etc for this patient. She knew the patient was being discharged the next day and had very little. Cathy's kindness is shared by her children, her kids had a few items but thought it wasn't enough. They went to the store and bought shoes, clothing, and a jacket for this patient they did not know, but knew needed help. The next day this patient was discharged with all new clean clothes to wear.
Cathy remains calm in difficult situations. She has good judgment and critical thinking skills. She knows when to seek out assistance.
