My husband was brought to the Emergency Department in full cardiac arrest. The outcome was one that I was not expecting, as he died at age 51. Upon being notified that I would not be at work that evening at 3pm due to the death of my husband, Cheryl Humbert (OR Charge Nurse, PCC) came down to the ED and stayed with me until my daughter arrived. Cheryl was compassionate, supportive, and was there during such a difficult time of my life. She was there to support me when calls had to be made to various family members and friends. Cheryl was always willing to be there if I needed anything. Cheryl Humbert deserves this award because she does care, is compassionate and respectful, and cares for those around her.
