As I reflect on my pregnancy journey and the birthing experience, I wonder where and how I begin putting my thoughts into words. There is so much that I observed during my labor that I didn’t get the chance to tell you, but I am sharing all that in this letter.

You saw me when I was at my most vulnerable. You remained calm when you witnessed me terrified and you treated me with dignity at a time when I felt my least dignified.

You listened to me. You believed in me. You gave me your support and you encouraged me when I whispered, “I can’t do it.’ You taught me to trust my own body and gave me the power to believe in myself.

You brought peace and positivity to my labor and you help us to deliver the baby safely into this world. You were there for me when I was exhausted and upset. You reassured me and guided me when I was anxious and frightened.

You made sure I was comfortable. You may not realize it, but I watched you working timelessly without any complaints.

You helped me through my pain and you gave me the confidence to trust myself and my strength.

You were the most incredible source of support and encouragement throughout my birthing journey. You were with me then, and you will remain with me forever… both in my stories and my heart.

I cannot begin to measure my gratitude, but for everything you are, everything you stand for, and everything you do….

I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
