Cinnamon displayed a peaceful presence amid chaos.
From the minute that Cinnamon walked into my room, I felt at peace. She came in with confidence in her job as a nurse and put me at ease. She allowed me to do what I needed in order for my contractions to not seem as painful. When I couldn’t handle the pain anymore, Cinnamon made me feel at ease about my choice to have an epidural. I have existing PTSD from my previous delivery with my first son that I didn’t realize until it was time to get my epidural. She noticed my unease and fear and distracted me with her silly personality and by cracking jokes.
When things started to go south in my delivery, Cinnamon was on top of it and stayed in my room making sure my baby was okay. When I had to be wheeled back for an emergency c section, Cinnamon displayed a peaceful presence amid chaos, relaxed me, and told me to calm down and breathe. When they couldn’t find my baby on the monitor, she held her hand on my stomach and when my son kicked her she told me he was still alive and calmed me down. She talked me through what was going to happen and listened to me as I was hysterically crying. Cinnamon never left my side and I heard her the whole time I felt uneasy.
When my c section was over and I didn’t stop bleeding, she stayed by my side while I was taken to IR for a surgery to stop the bleeding. She stayed the whole time and made sure that I was in good hands and never once left my side. After that surgery when I was taken into a recovery room, Cinnamon was once again at my side and making sure that I was okay physically and mentally. She was an advocate for me and my baby. To me, Cinnamon is a hero and I am forever grateful she was the nurse that got assigned to me. I feel like she’s the reason my son is here today. She was fast-acting and never hesitated. She is an amazing nurse who truly loves and cares for her patients. I am forever grateful.
