Day in and day out, Clair serves her patients and peers with respect and professionalism. She is constantly upholding the good name of OSF and making sure we are all doing the right thing. She serves every person with the greatest care and love and does it with poise. She is an exceptional charge nurse who keeps the "cogs" moving even on the worst days.
Last night was the busiest I have seen in the ER and one very stressful night. We were short staffed until we called in the on-call nurse, had the unit full and the waiting room full, and did not sit down until 0630. The busyness included a major code in the middle of the shift. Clair kept the nurses afloat, assisted with the code, directed traffic, and never for a minute lost her good attitude or professionalism, while all the time looking out for the family of the coding patient.
Clair Casagrande deserves a DAISY Award. God bless her.
