I have had the privilege of working with Clare Grabinski for over 25 years as a nurse. She has always demonstrated extraordinary interpersonal skills and so often her patients have come back to MMC just to thank her for the care received by her. Earlier this year, Clare had taken care of a patient, LB on our unit. LB had written a letter to Clare to thank her for everything she did while she was her patient, "you truly made such a huge difference in my [hospital] stay and life". The letter revealed her PRIDE values of MMC, "You were such a bright light for me during my stay, you made me extremely comfortable and I was always so excited when I had you. You even checked on me when I wasn't your patient!" The letter also demonstrated Clare's emotional support for LB; "You gave me a lot of hope". Clare consistently goes over and beyond for her patients and always thinks outside the box. LB also had an anxiety issue. The nurse used the ItGR system to even request a dog visit! "I really want to thank you for getting the puppy in here! Made my life!" Clare is also well known for her dependable and successful IV insertion skills, especially on the most difficult of patients. LB even acknowledged her excellent clinical IV skills," thank you for changing my IV, I can actually write …I'm a lefty and my right hand is useless". Clare Grabinski has consistently provided exceptional experienced nursing care over the years. For LB, Clare made her hospital stay clearly a good experience. LB concluded her letter perfectly, "You're a beautiful woman who did a beautiful job as my nurse." I couldn't agree more. This is the nurse you would want caring for your loved one.
