Claudette Araula has been with the VA since 2009, transferring from the East Coast to the San Francisco VA, bringing with her not only her skilled experience but also her undeniable kindness, which has been palpable for many veterans.

One veteran, who was struggling with his hospitalization, said Claudette stood out by being "especially kind and considerate" when he went through "cycles of depression and panic attacks" by going out of her way to relocate the veteran to a more fitting location in the hospital. He commended her, saying, "her compassion demonstrates to me her commitment to serve veterans, her advocacy, her respect, and her excellence in doing her duty as a nurse to above and beyond."
