My husband and I came in for my scheduled induction and were in labor and delivery for over 18 hours total. We were lucky enough to have Cynthia as our night shift nurse. She not only delivered expert medical care throughout her 12-hour shift, but she also explained and answered all of our questions thoroughly and made us feel at ease throughout the whole night. Since our baby was extremely active, she spent a lot of time in our room patiently trying to position the baby's heart monitor. During those times she demonstrated care and concern for the baby’s and my well being but also conversed easily and effortlessly with my husband and I about personal experiences and stories. She also did her best to let us rest as much as possible during the late night/early morning hours, demonstrating her empathy for our situation. Cynthia is an excellent nurse and definitely deserves this award.
