Danny (Llewellyn) Arney made me feel like I wasn't just another patient passing through the unit. She showed she cared and deep down inside I knew I was in good hands and she would take care of my medical needs. Funny thing is she also provided for my emotional needs by not letting me get down or be sad. She always made me laugh or said the right thing to keep me positive. She made me stronger mentally, enforcing the belief that this surgery wouldn't beat me. I am 38 years old, a full time student, husband, father of two with a third on the way. Needless to say, I had a lot to get back home to and there was no rest in site. Danny taught me that I could do it and not jeopardize my surgery while taking care of everyone else.

Everything I admired about Danny was reaffirmed when I had to return six weeks later to have the failed spinal hardware replaced. I was very sad and upset after four hours of unexpected surgery. As they rolled my bed down the hallway of Spine 9, I heard Danny's voice say, "What are you doing back here?" Her compassion, skills, professionalism, kindness, attention to detail, and communication knows no bounds.

Danny makes a difference for her patients. She made me smile, motivated me and kept me strong and positive. My experience would have been very different without her.

Danny is a great nurse who made an extraordinary difference in my life.
