I want to first say that I honestly do not know if I could have delivered my son safely without Danielle. As a nurse myself, I have to say that Danielle went above and beyond for me and my family and I will never have the words to thank her enough for all she did. I came into L&D ruptured and on Pitocin awaiting progress for delivery. Danielle was my nurse and I'm so lucky to have had her as my nurse but also as an advocate for me, my baby, and ultimately both of our safety. I needed an epidural. I called for one but unfortunately, they came too late. Danielle fought for me. I literally only saw her running to get me anything she could to help relieve the excruciating pain that I was in. It was my worst fear - childbirth with no pain control and my worst fear came true. Besides having my wonderful husband by my side who kept me focused and encouraged when I wanted to give up there also was my sweet nurse. She helped every way that she could. Updated us at every moment in regards to where anesthesia was and if/when I could get some relief. She gave not only me comfort in knowing I was her priority, but also my husband. Being married to a nurse, he knows how passionate we can be and he saw that in Danielle. My son was crowning and I had to push. Many women would be frantic to know their doctor was not in the room but not that night. Not with Danielle. I truly trusted that she would be there beside me, in the literal trenches, as I gave birth to my son. I had faith. I trusted her more than she will ever know. Luckily my doctor arrived before I delivered. Luckily my son is healthy and I am fine. It might have been my worst fear but I did it. I had a natural childbirth, never something I wanted but without my care team I wouldn't have been able to do what I did and a large part of this is because of Danielle. Thank you, Danielle, for everything. From one nurse to another, you're amazing. You're kind, nurturing, passionate, giving, loyal and a true DAISY Nurse.
