My mother A, was admitted to the ICU for obstruction in her esophagus and aspiration into her lungs. Debbie Kunzer was very compassionate and perceptive by educating me on my mother's condition, plan of care, and status reports. She understood the need I had to obtain accurate information as I had to communicate it to other family members who could not be present. Besides her ability to educate and perceive the patient and my needs, she also has a great many skills, like when my mother was in pain and restless due to the ET tube in her throat. She was attentive and very fast to respond with pain medication to alleviate her suffering. Debbie truly exemplifies all the characteristics of what nursing represents.
