Denise is an amazing nurse and was so helpful when my daughter was born. She was my baby's nurse in the Transition Nursery. She was so warm and caring, just overall a helpful person.
I had a c-section delivery and I was having a hard time while on the table. After the delivery, baby was so alert and looking for mommy right away. I was able to sit next to her briefly. I was able to kiss her and talk to her before she left.
They needed to take her to the nursery, since I was going into recovery and was unable to have the baby with me. My husband went to the Transition Nursery and did skin-to-skin with our baby, since I was unable to at the time. From what he tells me, Denise worked with him and helped him have such a great experience with skin-to-skin.
I ended up with a prolonged recovery because of an allergic reaction to a medication. After many hours had passed, it was getting close to the window that baby was going to need to eat something. Denise advocated and called multiple times. She was told that I was to be transitioned soon but after 4 hours she found that I was not in my room. She took it upon herself to bring my husband and baby to my side in the recovery room. She supervised and allowed me to hold my baby. Denise even took the time to help us start the breastfeeding bond. She was amazingly helpful and such a wonderful nurse.
Later in my stay at the hospital, Denise's sister came by with a gift of some hats. Each of them knitted with love. I had such a difficult time in recovery, it really frustrated me that so little information was given to my husband or family. Denise really went above and beyond to help out in a difficult situation and I really appreciate everything that she did.
