I would like to thank Devon and share my story of why this person is so special: This student puts all in everything he does and wants to succeed and do his best. Devon always paid attention in class and asked questions to enhance his learning. Devon was always prepared for clinical and knew about his patient which was reflected in his care plans. He went to other departments without hesitation and the feedback from other nurses in the hospital was excellent. Here is a specific example of how this individual has shown above-and-beyond care and compassion:

Devon always showed compassion to the patients and wanted to take care of them to the best of his ability. If Devon did not understand something he would seek out the answers. Devon participated in many Covid vaccine clinics and I was informed that the clients expressed how compassionate and caring Devon was in the clinics. When I work at IMH I am still asked how Devon is doing and to me when my co-workers remember my students that tells me a lot about that student and the care the student gave during the time at the clinical site.
