Just Diana's presence gave me energy that I didn’t know I had left.
There are no words that can fully describe my appreciation for Diana Pagan. Not only is she a spectacular nurse/technician on the MSU, but she is also an amazing friend, person, mother, mentor, and coworker. I have had the honor of working with Diana for a few years now, and for the first time, my family was on the other end of her care. I can tell you when she walked into the room, my rough night turned into such an amazing morning. I felt so relieved to have her by my side when my family couldn’t be. She has filled my ”mom” role before and today she filled that roll again, going above and beyond her nursing duties. She not only comforted my newborn when I was beyond exhausted, emotional, and to be honest not in the right state of mind, but she comforted me as well.
When Diana realized just how exhausted I was, she offered to hold my son knowing I was too afraid to fall asleep with no one else around and not knowing if I would be able to wake if he started crying. Just her presence gave me energy that I didn’t know I had left. I was also able to enjoy a much-needed shower without worry. I realized at that moment I often take for granted the simple things especially when my fear of leaving him unattended crippled me during our stay.
Diana, I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate your kindness and love. Thank you for coming in before your shift to check on us, thank you for your exceptional care during our stay, and thank you for simply being you. This is not the first or the last time you will make an impact on my life Diana. I will forever be thankful to have you in my life. You deserve a bouquet of daisies for your actions
